The 28th European Film Awards (EFA) will be held on December 12th in Berlin. The nominees for the awards will be announced on November 7th at the Seville Festival.

For the first time the list of 52 eligible films published by the European Film Academy includes two from Kosovar: “Babai” and “Three Windows and a Hanging”.

Visar Morina‘s “Babai”, which has been chosen to represent Kosovo in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 2016 Oscars, won the Best Director Award at this year’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and 3 awards at the Munich Film Fest (Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Actor). Isa Qosja‘s “Three Windows and a Hanging” has also won several awards, including the “In Spirit for Freedom Award” at the Jerusalem Film Festival.

This year the Academy is introducing a documentary category.
