From March 3rd to 11th the Toulouse Festival of Palestinian Film will be back for 9 days of screenings about Palestine
There will be a lot of films on offer. Mahdi Fleifel’s Vers un pays inconnu, having won an award recently at Premiers Plans, will open the festival. Also on the programme is From Ground Zero, a collaborative project led by Rashid Masharawi. Made up of 22 short films, Masharawi’s project records the atrocities experienced by Gazans during the Israeli army’s bombings.
Echoing this tragedy, the festival is staging an exhibition of photographs by Hussein Jaber, a reporter-photographer for UNRWA. In 25 photographs the exhibition shows the situation in the centre of Gaza City in April 2024, a record of daily survival from the youngest to the oldest.
During the 9-day Festival, the organizers have also organised an event with the poet and novelist Karim Kattan as well as a programme of films celebrating the guest country, Jordan.
