The 10th Rencontres à l’échelle will be held from November 4th to February 14th in several of Marseille’s cultural venues. Created and produced by Les Bancs Publics, the Rencontres is an annual international get-together, combining theatre, dance, music, performance, photography, cinema, reading and the visual arts.
The festival will show primarily the work of young artists, looking at issues related to identity, migration and heritage, as well as relations between the West and the East.
The aim is to offer a different approach from the ones we usually see about the Arab world, while more broadly looking at migration trajectories which are reconfiguring our globalised world.
As well as the shows, two discussions will be held on the following themes: “From migrant to refugee?” and “Artists and cultural operators confronted with the question of hospitality”.
