COPEAM (Conférence Permanente de l’Audiovisuel Méditerranéen) is organizing its 23rd Annual Conference from April 7th to 9th in Ajaccio’s Palais des Congrès, in partnership with the Corsican Regional Authority.
The various committees (television, audiovisual heritage, film/festival/culture, radio, education, gender equality, and exchange of TV news/magazines) will meet on April 8th.
On April 9th, the programme includes a morning discussion on the theme “What kind of future for Mediterranean youth? The media’s contribution”, then the Conference will end with the presentation of the Plural + Award (a video competition for people under 25 about migration, diversity and social inclusion), and the AGM for COPEAM members.
The idea of organizing this event in Ajaccio has been brewing for some time. It was first suggested in January 2014 by Paul Giacobbi, then chairman of Corsica’s Executive Council. He put the idea to COPEAM’s Secretary General, Pier Luigi Malesani, during “a meeting between the two men”.
