Christophe Baratier (Les Choristes, L’Outsider) pays tribute to Marcel Pagnol by producing a film adaptation of the final volume of the French writer’s childhood reminiscences, Le temps des secrets.
Although the first two volumes, Le Château de ma mère and La Gloire de mon père, were filmed in 1990 by Yves Robert, Le temps des secrets has never been adapted for the screen. In July 1905, just before starting secondary school, the 10-year old Pagnol returned to the hills of Garlaban for the summer holidays. During those few weeks he felt the first stirrings of adolescent desire before continuing his education at the lycée.
Filming should start in the spring between Marseille and Aubagne. The director is still casting, looking particularly for the following roles :
Marcel 11/12 years old
Paul 6/7 years
Isabelle 11/12 years old
Lili des Bellons 11/12 years old
Pegomas 12/13 years
Lagneau 13/14 years old
Applicants can apply by sending information about themselves, photos and a video presentation by email to Castingpagnol13@gmail.com
