The Montpellier International Festival of Mediterranean Cinema, now in its 39th year, will be held between October 20th and 28th 2017.
Screenings of short and feature-length films, documentaries and animation, are on the agenda, as well as special and thematic evenings, previews, well-known guests (actors, producers), events for young people, meetings, exhibitions.
The call for applications is now open, with the deadline for short films and documentaries on July 3rd. The deadline for the development grant is July 17th and for drama films August 21st 2017. Cinemed is for films made since July 1st 2016. Each film must in some way enrich, through its subject-matter or treatment, the cinematic representation of the Mediterranean. The film’s director must be from Portugal, Armenia, or any country bordering the Mediterranean or the Black Sea.
