Registration is now open for the pre-selection phase of FIGRA 2017 (Festival International du Grand Reportage d’Actualité et du documentaire de société – International festival of news reporting and documentaries about our world).
Any director, journalist, author, TV channel, television news agency or production company may compete.
The films, between 15 and 90 minutes long, must have been made between October 1st 2015 and October 31st 2016. No film which has already won an award at any other festival in France prior to October 31st will be eligible.
Registration is on the FIGRA web-site, with a deadline of October 31st.
However, for the following awards the deadline is December 31st:

the Impact Award, given by FIGRA and Amnesty International, reserved for films exposing human rights violations.

The Varenne Award Web&Doc, given by Varenne Foundation for web-documentaries

Coup de Pouce, supporting film-makers who have made one film and have written a project for a second.
Created 23 years ago, FIGRA takes place every year at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. The next one will be from March 22nd to 26th 2017.
