Ciné-Palestine

The cultural association La Compagnie Ici, Là-Bas et Ailleurs launched the first edition of these meetings in 2014. Since then, each year, a tribute is paid to a character. In 2020, it is the turn of actor and director Mohammed Bakri to be highlighted. Three films in which he appeared (Zindeeq by Michel Khleifi, 2009 ; Haifa by Rashid Masharawi, 1996 ; Wajib. L’invitation au mariage by Annemarie Jacir, 2017) will be screened during these days.

A theme is also, each year, privileged in the programming. The focal point of this 6th edition will be the city of Gaza. Various documentaries on this subject will be broadcast, such as Gaza by Garry Keane and Andrew Mc Connell (2019), or L’Apollon de Gaza by Nicolas Wadimoff (2018).

Ciné-Palestine Toulouse Occitanie wants to highlight the richness of Palestinian cinema. But also to democratize this art and especially to a young audience. Partnerships are thus organized with the Collège Berthelot, the Lycée des Arènes in Toulouse, or the ENSAV.

In order to participate in the city’s and region’s enrichment, these meetings take place in various places. And apart from the Ciné-Palestine event, the association La Compagnie Ici, Là-Bas et Ailleurs organizes “off-season” meetings throughout the year.
