Egyptian actress Faten Hamama died on Saturday, January 17th at the age of 83. Her film career began at the age of 9 in Mohamed Karim’s “Happy Days”, but in the 1950s it really took off, reaching a peak in the 1970s. She appeared in hundreds of films in many different genres, from romantic comedy to films denouncing social inequalities or defending the rights of women.
