The 37th Cairo International Film Festival will take place from November 11th to 20th.
16 films will be in competition for the Golden Pyramid Award. In addition to films screened in the official competition, there will be 20 films shown in a “Special Screenings” category and a further 40 films in the “Festival of Festivals” category. The festival will pay tribute to Italian actress Claudia Cardinale, and deceased actors Hussein Fahmi, Fatin Hamama and Nour Chérif.
This year the jury will be chaired by Paul Webster, a British producer. He will be working with two actresses, Radhika Apte and Dalia El Behery, four directors, Jonatan Relayze Chiang, Marwan Hamed, Leila Marrakesh and Giorgi Ovashvili and two producers, Anne-Dominique Toussaint and Mitsue Eguchi.
Alongside the film screenings, there will be several conferences and workshops.
