The best in documentary production will be shown in Zagreb between February 24th and March 3rd during the 15th ZagrebDox festival. For 8 days short and feature-length documentaries will be screened at the Kaptol Boutique Cinema.
Launched in 2005, the Zagreb International Festival of Documentary Film offers audiences a panorama of contemporary documentaries. Beyond its mission to show these films, its objective is to stimulate national documentary production and encourage international co-productions.
The festival is competitive, with international and regional categories. The latter gives audiences the chance to see documentaries from the Balkan countries, Italy, Hungary and Austria.
In addition to the competition, there are 8 other sections: Masters of Dox, Biography Dox, Musical Globe, Controversial Dox, State of Affairs, Happy Dox, ADU DOX and Teen Dox. The Masters of Dox section will show the work of some of the best contemporary documentary film-makers – Vitaly Mansky, Victor Kossakovsky, Nikolaus Geyrhalter and Ivars Seleckis.
For professionals, the Croatian festival organizes specific events for networking. The ZagrebDox Pro Workshop, a training workshop, is open to people with a documentary project in development. This workshop runs from February 24th to March 1st and will be supervised by Leena Pasanen and Stefano Tealdi. Its main objective is to provide participants with the skills necessary to find international collaborators to finance their films.
12 film projects from 11 countries (Serbia, Poland, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, India, Sweden, Italy, Hungary, Belarus and Latvia) have been selected to participate. These projects will be presented to professionals, potential funders, distributors and the general public at the Pitching Forum on February 28th.
