Organized by the CMCA in tandem with INA Méditerranée, the 16th training workshop “Writing news reports using archive material” will be held from June 19th to 26th in Marseille.
The workshop will make the participants aware of the region’s audiovisual heritage preserved in the archives and provide them with the skills necessary to produce journalistic stories on archive-based subjects.
During the week, the trainees will spend time in the INA Méditerranée building where they will be shown the principles of making, preserving and safeguarding an audiovisual archive. After that, in the offices of the CMCA, they will take part in a discussion with a journalist on the specifics of writing news items based on archival material.
After these different theoretical approaches, the trainees will work in teams to produce a short report from images showing agriculture in the city. They will thus be able to practice professional filming as well as actively participate in the video editing of their report.
