The 19th television and radio festival, organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) in Tunis, was particularly generous to the Algerian public television company (EPTV) and the Algerian Radio (ENRS). They won six awards on April 31st in the presence of their CEO’s Tewfik Khelladi and Chaabane Lounakel.
EPTV won first prize in the following categories: “Children’s programmes”, “Entertainment programmes” and “programme exchange”. In the “historical documentaries” category Algerian TV won second prize for Hannane Bourayou’s “Soukhour El hadhara”.
On the radio side, ENRS won first prize for exchanging radio programmes, thanks to MENOS ((Multimedia Exchange Network Over Satellite), a system designed to help exchanges, and second prize in the “programmes for people with disabilities” category, with a programme from the regional station at Tlemcen.
At the closing ceremony the Algerian Minister of Communication, Djamel Kaouane, present throughout the festival, received a special distinction.
