TUNISIA / The 35th FIFAK postponed again to August 14th 2021

The 35th Festival International du Film Amateur de Kélibia (FIFAK), which was first going to take place last year, then this year from August 7th to 14th, has had to be postponed yet again. Organized by the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image (CNCI) and the Fédération Tunisienne des Cinéastes Amateurs (FTCA), Tunisia’s oldest film festival – created in 1964 – is finally scheduled from August 14th to 21st 2021.

The event has two competitions: national and international. Every year this small fishing port of 45,000 inhabitants welcomes amateur film-makers from all over the world and students from film and audiovisual schools. FIFAK wants to be the beacon of committed cinema, a “cinema-struggle”, defender of civic values, “social justice, collegial responsibility and democracy”:

May a thousand ways of seeing flourish at Kélibia and may freedom of expression continue to roar, because we want it to be free before being cinema”, is how the FIFAK blog sets the tone.
