At the 70th Cannes Film Festival, the Greek Film Centre (GFC) and the French Centre National du Cinéma (CNC) renewed a three-year agreement to finance Franco-Greek co-productions.

A first agreement was signed for the period 2014-2016. This was followed by an agreement for 2017, now this latest contract has extended the duration of the co-production programme until 2019. The GFC was represented by its Director General, Electra Venaki and the CNC, by its chair, Frédérique Bredin.

The agreement favours Greek co-producers, especially those making low-budget films. For productions with a budget of less than €1.25 million, funding from public bodies could be greater than 50% of budget, going up to 80%.

Film projects can be submitted already. Relevant information together with the selection and evaluation criteria should be announced shortly by the GFC and the CNC.
