ITALY / The Venice Biennale hosts the Gap-Financing Market

The 6th Venice Gap-Financing Market will take place from August 30th to September 1st on the sidelines of the 76th Venice International Film Festival.

Organized as part of the Venice Production Bridge, this flagship event offers film-makers with pre-selected projects the possibility of finding finance through individual meetings with professionals from around the world.

The meetings will bring together the project team – the producer and director – with various film and broadcasting industry decision-makers (producers, distributors, TV commissioners, video platforms, post-production companies, etc.).

During the three days of meetings 51 projects will be presented: 28 feature-length projects (drama and documentary), 12 virtual reality projects, 8 virtual reality projects developed within the “Biennale College Cinema VR” workshop, and 3 film projects developed during the “Biennale College Cinema” workshop.

Feature-length projects must already have 70% of their funding. This year’s selected projects include Palestinian director Frias Khoury’s Alam, Ismael Ferroukhi’s Franco-Moroccan Mica, and Iva Radivojevic’s Serbian documentary Aleph.
