GREECE / Launch of the Thessaloniki’s documentary market

The international documentary market, which is being held in parallel with the 20th Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, will take place from March 4th to 10th. All market-related activities are supported by Creative Europe.
It will bring together 80 buyers and nearly 150 industry professionals. The market and related events will this year focus particularly on south eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean area as a whole.
The market also hosts a forum allowing documentary professionals to present their projects to international investors and broadcasting representatives.
In addition, for the seventh consecutive year, a selection of ten documentaries currently in post-production will be screened to industry professionals, agents, distributors, producers and festival organizers, who will then have the difficult task of picking the best documentary, which will receive an award of €15,000.
Finally, Thessaloniki’s documentary market will host a conference about online distribution via the Moving Docs platform, which allows distributors to cross borders easily, thus reaching a wider audience.
