JORDAN / 7 new projects selected by MedFilm4all

MedFilm4allLast September MedFilm4all launched its second call for projects, and received 58 proposals. Of these, 7 were chosen by the selection committee, which met in Amman from November 19th to 22nd.

The chosen projects are:

– “A perfect presence for films about gender in remote areas” submitted by the Jordanian Commission for Democratic Culture (Jordan)

– “Women, films and history: talking about culture” submitted by the Arab Network for Civic Education – ANHRE (Jordan)

– “Promoting social inclusion and gender equality in Palestine by tackling gender stereotypes” submitted by the Palestinian Association for Autonomy and Local Development (Palestine)

– “A tale for every house: breaking stereotypes and improving the image of women in the community” brought by Women’s Affairs Centre (Palestine)

– “Women behind the camera” submitted by the Lebanese Observatory of Workers’ and Employees’ Rights – LOWER (Lebanon)

– “Cinema for all: the programme”, brought by Cinema for All (Tunisia)

– “Cinema against gender-based violence” submitted by the Neama Association for Development (Morocco)

MedFilm4all currently supports 12 projects from 6 countries: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. It hopes to improve gender equality, and human development generally, by showing audiovisual works dealing with social issues. It also wants to develop the production and distribution of audiovisual works about social and gender issues.
