EUROMEDITERRANEAN / Imminent creation of the first Euro-Mediterranean Audiovisual Centre

During the Cannes Film Festival, an important agreement was signed by the directors of several Mediterranean broadcasting organisations. Its aim is to create a Euro-Mediterranean Audiovisual Centre.

The group of signatories includes Nejib Ayed, director of the Carthage Film Festival; Teresa Azcona of the Spanish Film Commission; Joanna Gallardo, head of the Ile-de-France Film Commission; Piluca Querol, head of the Andalusia Film Commission; Lamal Souissi, head of the Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima Film Commission and Luciano Sovena, director of the Roma Lazio Film Commission.

“I believe that cultural dialogue between countries with common roots can and must be improved and strengthened,”said Luciano Sovena. “At this particular moment in history the agreement for the Euro-Mediterranean Centre takes on a particular significance, both from the standpoint of the film industry and also from the social and political point of view.”
