Dot on the map

This year, in the run-up to the 18th Cyprus Film Days International Festival (April 3rd to 11th), a new event has been added to the programme: Dot.on.the.map Industry Days.

The aim: to encourage Mediterranean producers, directors and screenwriters to come together. Using various means the organizers want to encourage co-productions and international collaborations in filmed drama. The project is open to professionals from the three continents around the island: Africa, Asia and Europe. The Film Days Festival is supported by the Cypriot government, hoping to develop the local film industry internationally.

Dot.on.the.map Industry Days will be organized in two sections:
– Meeting Point, an international co-production forum where film-makers can present their projects to find financial, development or distribution partners. Six drama feature-film projects will be chosen by a selection jury. A separate, international jury will chose which projects should be given the awards to be presented at the closing ceremony on April 11th.
– Cinema Talks, a programme of master classes and workshops led by the professionals present. The programming for the Film Days will be announced before the start of the Festival.

Registration for Dot.on.the.map Meeting Point is open until February 16th and can be done here.
