ALGERIA MOROCCO / Huge success for Algerian film-makers at the International Festival of Amazigh Film

The 11th International Festival of Amazigh Film, held in Agadir, closed on March 6th. Algerian journalist and writer Arezki Metref won the documentary Grand Prix for his film “Une journée au soleil”. Released in 2018, this film deals with immigration to France and the role of the Algerian community in France through history.

Noredine Kebaili, another Algerian film-maker, won the short film award for “Séquence une….” which deals with journalists killed in conflict zones. In this category Omar Belkacemi, who recently won an award at the Tizi-Ouzou National Festival of Amazigh Film, received a special mention for “Lmudja”.

Moroccan director Ahmed Baidou won the Best Feature Film Award with “Addour”.
