UNITED STATES / The 2020 Oscar awards: Mediterranean candidates for Best International Feature Film

The registration period is officially open for nominations for the Academy Awards Best International Feature Film (formerly Best Foreign Language Film) to be presented at the 92nd Academy Awards. To be eligible for this Oscar, films must have been released in their country of origin between October 1st 2018 and September 30th 2019.

Once all the candidates are registered, nine finalists will be selected by the end of December. The Academy then reduces that list to five. These will be the official Oscar nominees, announced in January 2020. The 92nd Academy Awards will take place on February 9th 2020.
