MOROCCO / Shooting foreign films in Morocco brings in cash

The income generated by foreign productions filming in Morocco has increased during the current year, reaching a record level of 667 million dirhams, according to the Centre cinématographique marocain (CCM).

For decades Morocco has been a popular destination for film-makers and producers, thanks in particular to the diversity of its natural sites and the availability of local technical skills. In addition, the CCM supports the production of foreign cinema and television films in Morocco.

Among the major productions filmed in Morocco in 2018 is the eighth season of Homeland. Produced by the American company “Fox 21”, it is currently one of the most watched series in the world.
