MOROCCO / Noomi Rapace films “Close”

The Swedish actress Noomi Rapace is the star of “Close”, Vicky Jewson’s third feature currently filming in Morocco.

Having started filming in London, the film crew moved to Morocco in early September to continue shooting this British action thriller. They will be filming in Marrakesh, Al Haouz, Tahanaout, Amizmiz, Casablanca, Benslimane, El Jadida and Azemmour until October.

British director Vicky Jewson’s previous film, “Born of War”, marked her as a talent to watch. The script for “Close” is inspired by Jacquieline Davis, a British bodyguard who has protected many celebrities during her career. Noomi Rapace (“Millennium”) plays a similar character, an expert in counter terrorism, who is unwillingly detailed to watch over a rich young heiress. Dull work, until there’s a violent kidnapping attempt. Quebec’s Sophie Nélisse (“La voleuse de livres”) and the British Indira Varma (“Game of Thrones”) are the film’s other two stars, scheduled for release in 2018.

Close Ltd and Jewson Films produce this feature film in collaboration with K-Films, a Casablanca-based executive production company.
