ITALY / The Fashion Film Festival Milan introduces a category on sustainable fashion

The fifth edition of the Fashion Film Festival Milan, taking place from September 20th to 25th at the Anteo Palazzo del Cinema, will coincide with the city’s Fashion Week. This year the festival will be highlighting sustainable fashion.

The festival organizers, headed by Constanza Cavalli Etro, are presenting a new category: “Best Green Fashion Film”.

The Fashion Film Festival will also continue to support women directors through an initiative it began last year: #FFFMilanoForWomen. Over the course of these six days more than 200 fashion films presented by new talents from 50 countries will be judged by a jury of international personalities. Among others the jury includes Ana Lily Amirpour, whose film “The Bad Batch” won the Special Jury Prize at the 2016 Venice Film Festival; British photographer Max Vadukul; art curator Caroline Corbetta; artistic director Pablo Arroyo, and designer Umit Benan.

To make the event available to everyone, the 2018 Festival will include free screenings of films which are part of the competition. In addition, an online voting system allows anyone to vote for their favourite film as part of the “People’s Choice Award”. The awards ceremony will be held at the Triennial Museum on September 25th.
