The Greek Film Centre has announced it will help finance an additional three film projects from the applications received between May 1st and July 31st 2016. A total of 26 film projects were chosen for the third and final aid package of 2016.

Two of the additional projects selected for 2016 will be included in the production assistance programme: Dimitris Koutsiabasakos’ Kila (The Grocer), produced by View Master Films and S’Ayti Ti Hora Kanis Den Iksere Na Klei (Mania) by Giorgos Panousopoulos, produced by Blackbird Production. The third, Dream Island, written and directed by Sofia Papahristou and produced by A & G Films Media Entertainment Ltd, will receive a re-writing grant.

The total budget for the grants is €1,660,500. Of that, €1,230,000 will go to twelve feature-length drama projects, €230,000 to seven feature-length documentaries and €79,000 to four international co-productions.

Among the latter are Tony Gatlif’s Djam, selected for the 70th Cannes Film Festival and Tonia Mishiali’s Pause (formerly Menopause). Mishiali is a former student of Berlinale Talents.
