FRANCE / Les Ecrans de Babel in collaboration with the CMCA and PriMed

 

Babel Med Music is extending its festival with a selection of films and documentaries about the different types of music in the world. They will be shown at Marseille’s Bibliothèque de l’Alcazar and the Hangar du J1 on March 16th to 18th.

 

These free screenings will be part of the Écrans de Babel. Here is the programme, created in collaboration with the CMCA to promote PriMed:

Thursday March 16th

4.00 pm: CHEIKH EL HASNAOUI, DE LA MAISON BLANCHE A L’OCÉAN BLEU by Abderrazak LARBI-CHERIF, 80’, 2015, Algeria.

3.pm: ÉPOPÉE by Aurélia BARBET, 47’, 2016, France.

Portrait of Marseille’s La Joliette neighbourhood, with songs by sailors and the inhabitants.

3.55: TUNISIA CLASH by Hind MEDDEB, 65’, 2015, France.

An enormous Catalan project: a big band for kids, from 6 to 18 years old, using jazz repertories.

4.15pm: LAMPEDUSA, THE NEW SONGLINES by Michele FUMEO and Pier Giorgio MANGIAROTTI

An ambitious educational project with the children of Lampedusa, 15 musicians and the Lipadusa brass band.
