FRANCE / Candidate call for the 14th Corsican Festival MED di u Filmu Cortu

The Corsican Film Competition organized by Diffusion KVA will show the latest short films produced on the island.

This year the event will be in two parts: in the first half of the year it will be in the town of Furiani, near Bastia, then at the start of summer in Porto Vecchio at the Corsican cinémathèque.

The competition is open to films:

  • produced and / or directed in a Mediterranean country from an idea by a Mediterranean scriptwriter or director
  • addressing one or more themes relating to the Mediterranean.

Three categories of short films are in competition this year:

  • The Mediterranean Competition: the Prix Panorama. The theme is “insularity” and the films must be about and shot on a French Mediterranean island
  • The Corsican competition: the Prix Panorama Corse, independent of the selections
  • A Short Film Competition for young audiences

As part of the festival Diffusion KVA is also organizing, with France Télévisions and many other partners, the 10th short film scriptwriting competition. Aimed at directors who have already produced a short film, participants must submit an original fifteen-minute fictional screenplay which will then be shot in Corsica.
