After El Hayat TV, it is the turn of another channel, Beur Tv, to win approval from the Algerian Ministry of Communication. This second authorization to broadcast follows an announcement by government spokesman Ammar Belhimer that there will be “comprehensive reforms” in the communications sector.

Beur Tv was founded in 2003 as an independent, secular and generalist channel, aimed originally at populations of Mediterranean origin.

In July 2011 following cash flow problems, its chairman, Nacer Kettane, had to sell some of his shares to Réda Mehigueni, who changed the editorial line so that the channel now targets primarily Algerians and the Algerian community in France.
