FRANCE / 11th training workshop for making TV news stories from archive material

From September 17th to 24th the CMCA and INA Méditerranée ran the 11th training workshop for making TV news reports using archive material. Aimed at television journalists from companies who are members of the CMCA, this year’s session was set up in collaboration with Open Media Hub.

Formation CMCA-INA

Journalists from six countries (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt and Croatia) were first given a course on the theory of analysing and preserving broadcast archives. They then made short news reports based round this year’s theme “Marseilles’ markets”. Having been shown how to use a camera, the trainees criss-crossed Marseilles filming today’s markets, then put these together with images from INA’s archives. Thus the workshop also allowed them to practice video editing. The 4 completed reports can be seen on the CMCA website.
